I needed something last minute for a trip to Europe to replace a well worn backpack. This bagpack has multiple secure and durable zip pockets for organizing all contents both internally and externally. I liked the padded sleeve for my iPad, though it could easily accommodate a full size laptop. The secure luggage pass through for a rolling bag was great. I was also able to fit a change of clothes, electronics, toiletries, a water bottle, lunch, sunglasses, reading specs, and a pair of sandals that all fit in the bag under the seat back in front of me. The easy switch from backpack to shoulder strap worked well in the airport and in larger cities. This was my favorite feature. I was able to ride a bike and feel safe with public transport with the backpack/shoulder bag options. The fabric is durable and water resistant, which is important while traveling and living in the PNW. This is now my new work bag. If you are on the fence, I can assure you it is one of the most functional and durable pieces of gear I own and has a nice elegance without overdoing the colors or branding on the label like some other well known brands. Plus Alpine Sea is local to me with great customer service and made in house. Bravo on a great design. It looks like it will last a lifetime!
